Its weigh in day again!!! AND some goals reached!!

Welcome to Weigh In Wednesday. Can I get a drum roll please. 1kg down....Thats right....GOODBYE 80's HELLO 70's...Oh how I have misssed you. Current weight it 79.3kg. I am so happy right now and I cannot remember the last time I was below 80kg. I Will NEVER be above 80kg again. 9.3kg left until my 70kg goal for this challenge. Can I do this? HELL YES I CAN!!

Thats 2 goals reached this week...Under 80kg and 30 pushups on my toes. Time to do some goal reviewing and reward myself with something nice. Thinking of painting my nails later...I havn't had my nails painted since my wedding over 2 years ago.
Oh and I tried on my year 10 graduation/formal dress the other day....It fits OMG. I cannot believe it fits...I will have to put it back on and get some photos to put up :)

Time to start the next week and smash out some more calories and burn some more fat and see what next week's weigh in brings...We have another fitness test/measure up session next week so I am looking forward to seeing how much my body has changed in 4 weeks and how much fitter I am. Only thing is, I hope I can wait until David returns from his work trip so I can do my 1km time trial...I can't run with a pram so that will have to wait. The rest can get done though..Thats easy.

Have a great week everyone.

Shopping day

Does anyone else dread shopping day? I sure do since theres all this yummy food that I love to eat and usually buy. Today though I have to have a little brag. I saw some chocolate muffins in the bakery section at Coles that I thought looked delicious and were on special. Now normally I would buy them but today I just turned my head the other way and kept on shopping. In fact I didn't buy any bad stuff at all I kept to the list. That would have to be a first in a long time.
Normally I end up with a lot of other stuff that we don't need in the trolley and the shop ends up costing way more. $135 the total shop came to and that included Sophies box of Nappies and Formula which add up to about $50 on their own. Most of the shop was fresh fruit and vegies. Usually the weekly shop comes to about $150 and then we end up with takeaway anyway....Whoever says eating healthy is expensive is a liar who obviously hasn't tried and just making excuses.
Another confession too. I have been taking sneak peaks in peoples trolleys while shopping and also look at the size of them. You can really see with what they buy and their size that its what they always buy. The healthier people have a lot of healthy food while the larger obese people have a pile of garbage in it and most likely wonder why they can't fit into their jeans. I know theres a lot of people doing the 12WBT who are obese (I'm classified as Obese) and are now buying healthier foods too but you can really tell the people who want to change their lives by just looking at whats in their trolley.
I am really loving this new way of living. My skin is a lot softer and I can feel an improvement in my depression already. Even though I am on anti-depressants which sure they do help, but I don't want to be on them for the rest of my life.
I will add as well that I kind of cheated yesterday and weighed myself even though Wednesday is weigh in day and not Saturday...Under 80kg *Does a happy dance*. I cannot remember the last time I was under 80kg. I will reveal my proper weigh in on Wednesday when I do my weekly weigh in....I make a vow right now to  not touch the scales until Wednesday morning.

Week 2

Well its that day again folks. Its weigh in day!!!!!. 1.1kg gone forever. Down to 80.3kg so 300g to go until I reach my first goal. I can taste the success already.
My body is complaining from all the exercise I have been doing and have found I have muscles where I didn't know I had them. But I am not letting a little muscle soreness stop me from achieving my goals.
My body can complain all it wants but I will still exercise becaise I WANT TO and I WILL.

I WILL reach my 80kg goal and then I WILL work towards my next set of goals. NOTHING will stop me.

While I have had some ups and downs this week. Had a few slip ups where I went over my 1200calorie quota for the day and there were days that I didn't exercise...The hardest part has been David heading off to Townswville on Friday (8th June). I've been struggling to find motivation to do my workouts since he has been here to support me and encourage me to try harder. I do realise though that I need to do it whether he is here or not. I just have to work around Sophies schedule since its hard to workout while shes awake because she needs the attention...She does enjoy going for walks with me though so thats a bonus...Its just a shame the weather the past few days has been a bit average and by the time it clears up its getting to late to go anyway.

Heres to another successful week.

Weigh in Day

Well its day 3 of the challenge and its weigh in day already...Every Wednesday is weigh in day for the challenge.
Weight this morning is 81.4kg. Thats a 1.2kg loss from last Week. WOOHOO. I cannot remember the last time I seen that weight on the scales. Looking forward to the coming weeks.

The weather the past few days has been horrible here...High gusty winds and rain...I still got off my butt this morning and went for a run/walk. Burnt 286cal. Only 214 cals to go until I reach my 500cal target. :). Thinkng a bit of Zumba this afternoon. That will give bub some Entertainment...Unless shes asleep while I do it.

Off to put some washing on so then David has enough underwear for his first week away. He leaves for Townsville QLD on Friday morning for 3 weeks so it will be just bub and I...And the dog.

Lets Begin!!

Well its finally here, finally starting....The Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation (12WBT) starts TODAY.
I have my meal plan and my exercise plan and definately ready to get the ball rolling and shed some unwanted kilo's and release my sexy body within. ;)
So far I have had breakfast which was 50g muesli, 1/2 apple and 125ml of lite milk. Not much different than my normal breakfast lately. I normally have a banana instead of apple and never used to measure the muesli. Then I went for my morning run and did some situps, pushups etc. Burn't 205 calories so I still have 295 to get to my 500cal quota. But don't despair I WILL be doing it as Michelle Bridges says JFDI (Just Freaking Do It). Have a DVD I will be doing later to finish off the rest of those calories plus a few more.
I have had my morning tea which was my Coffee/Cappuccino. 1 cup lite milk (115 cal) with 1tsp Low GI sugar (16cal) (Sugar with larger granules - Brand called LoGi Cane can get from Coles.) with one shot of real grinded coffee beens :) Yummy. Total 131calories. 170 Calories left for my snacks for the day (Have an allocation of 300calories per day for snacks and a total of 1200 calories including snacks per day)
Note My coffee will always be the real stuff not the instant stuff since I cannot stand it and its banned from my house. :D

On a great note. I did slice 12 seconds off my 1km time trial. Did 1km in 7mins and 58seconds rather than the 8minutes and 10 seconds from the other day when I did my fitness test....I also managed to run more too. :D.

I shall post again later with my finally calorie burn for the day and my total calorie intake for the day. :D

Pantry before and after

Pantry Before we cleaned it out
Pantry after we cleaned it out....Looks much better now and we can find things...Its amazing how much crap one can accumulate lol.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Time for another song. This time I had the tune "Somewere Over The Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz stuck in my head so I changed the words to it to relate to my upcoming life journey.

Somewhere over the rainbow
There is a life
Somewhere waiting for me
To arrive.

Somewhere over the rainbow
I found you
Now the goals that I dream of
Will come true

Someday I will go so far
And jump down from the clouds so high
Above me
Where troubles seem to make me stop
And then my confidence really drops
You will no longer find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
I am alive
Others got their lives back
Oh why can’t I?

And if those people no longer cry
When everything just won’t go right
Why, oh why can’t I?

Somewhere over the rainbow
I will try
Right here waiting for me
Is my life
Somewhere over the rainbow
I WILL SURVIVE.

Todays Blog brought to you by COMMITMENT!!

Yes thats right. Today is COMMITMENT day.
In the past I have always failed with commiting to a diet and exercise plans which always ended up in ultimate failure. I always made up excuses to why I can't do this and why i'm eating that and then get mad when the scales go up or not budge. I blame my weight, laziness and stupid diet choices for my PCOS. I am hoping that WHEN I reach my goals my PCOS symptoms will improve, I will feel more energetic and happy. I want more confidence and self-esteem. And the big one I say NO to Diabetes/Insulin Resistance, Heart Disease, Cancer, Infertility. I want to see my daughter grow up with a healthy mother and be a good role model for her.

This is not yet another fail diet that will cause me to give up within the first 2 weeks. This is a whole lifestyle change that I WILL COMMIT TO.

Below is my Commitment to everybody that I wrote on the 12WBT forums as required for the 4th Pre-season Task.

Michelle my commitment to you, myself and my family and friends is to get my butt into gear and train as hard as i possibly can to reach my goals. I WILL NOT give up when I think things are too hard, I will instead try harder until I succeed with the task and then keep going.

I will commit to this challenge and stick to this new lifestyle long after the challenge finishes. I am willing to try new things and are committed to exercising at least 6 days per week.

I WILL NOT QUIT. There are NO valid excuses for why this will not work. I WILL BELIEVE IN MYSELF AND YOU (Michelle Bridges) AS MY TRAINER!!. I will think POSITIVE and SMILE even if its a bad day!

JFDI!!!!!!!!

Also Hubby made me sign a commitment before even signing up to this challenge...Its stuck to the fridge with my pathetic excuses and my goals....And also some stop signs with Mish and Commando on it LOL. Yes I took over the fridge door.... grin I can look at all these bits of paper and see that this is real and not just another boring diet that I wont stick to. This time its different and I am more determined than ever.

So there you have it. My commitment to everybody including myself. I WILL NOT FAIL YOU OR MYSELF.

Time Flies when your having fun.

Well this last week has flown. Have been very busy getting things organised for my lifestyle change.
Tast 2 was unlocked on Thursday which was a goal setting task. Have got some great goals set which I am working towards already. In fact I have actually reached one of my goals.
I bought a pair of jeans a while ago that I couldn't do up. I tried them on this morning and low and behold I  could do them up. They are still a little tight but they fit. That was one of my goals...I'm so proud of myself.

I also bought some new runners since my old ones are a bit daggy and not good for doing intense workouts with. Also got some of Mish's crunch time DVD's and OMG what a workout. Was worn out after 15 minutes. I know I have said this before but I am really looking forward to this challenge starting.

Task 3 was unlocked today which was a gear up challenge...We had to make sure we had all the gear we will need for the challenge and know where we are doing our exercise. I will be doing my workouts at home and outdoors.

Bought a half barrell from Bunnings Warehouse and got some herbs and planted them in it so I can have fresh herbs.

Another great thing we did over the weekend was we cleaned out the kitchen pantry. You know its overdue to be cleaned out when you fill 2 large garbage bags full of crap.

Well thats all for now. I will post my goals a little later.

Monday 7 May 2012

Pre-Season Day 1

Day 1 of pre-season started today. First challenge is to write down any excuses that I have used to get out of doing exercise or eating healthy. Then had to write down solutions for them. It was a real eye opener since I didn't realise how many excuses I used until writing them down. And all of them are pathetic.
From now on I decide to exercise and eat healthy rather than making excuses for why I shouldn't. I will never reach my goals if I don't think positive and help myself.

Thursday 3 May 2012

Megzy's Rainy Day Training Circuit.

Since this morning it was raining I designed myself a workout to do indoors if it was raining. I didn't end up doing it since Sophie woke up before hand which makes it impossible while hubby is at work...I will keep it there for next time it rains (Which i'm pretty sure wont be long until it rains again since its always raining here)

First you need to make a bit of space in your loungeroom or a room where you can make space. Even a garage or carport would do.

2 minute on the spot jogging as a warm up...Or you can do a few laps up and down the hall way or around the room.

Then repeat the following sets 2 -3 times.

20 Situps
10 Burpees
50 squats
Plank (Hold for as long as can and try to increase the time each round)
20 pushups
20 lunges (Each leg)
50 start jumps
20 tricep dips (On a chair, step, crate whatever you have handy)
90 seconds of bicycle legs (Laying on back with legs moving in bicycle motion)

2 minute on the spot jogging as a cool down
Make sure you stretch afterwards.

4 Days to go until Pre-season starts!

Well its only 4 days to go until pre-season starts. I cannot wait for the extra challenges that will get me ready for the 12 weeks to start.
Warm Up challenge number 5 I am struggling a bit with since I usually follow my daughters sleep schedule and hubby's work schedule as well. The past couple of days I have been eating around the same time each day though so hasvn't been too bad.
My diet has improved also after last weeks diet blunder.

Yesterday I walked to the shops instead of driving and only got the things we needed rather than everything else we don't need.
Even bought an Oz lotto ticket...Havn't bought one of those for years actually. its a $70,000,000 draw so that would be nice to win.

Was raining this morning so couldn't go for a walk but the rain has cleared and its sunny now so once miss Sophie wakes up we will be going for a walk. I will also be getting the rower out again too since my butt chaffing has healed. Not sure if I mentioned it in previous posts but somehow i ended up with chaffing in my butt crack that blistered a bit and was sore for days. TMI lol. Hubby thought it was funny though.

The Light

The light,
it shines so bright.
Lightens up the darkened night.
It casts shadows on the empty streets.
The birds,
they all retreat,
into their nests,
until the morning comes,
and the sun is bright in the sky.
The sunlight,
oh so warm,
makes everybody cheerful.
Hear the birds sing,
as light is cast upon the morning dew,
and the flowers new.
What a wonderful thing,
the have the light.
To be able to see,
whether day or night.
The light.

This is one of my favourite poems I have written. The day I wrote it was actually a good day for writing for me.

Day 5

Good morning everyone, I have been a bit slack when it comes to writing in my blog. At the moment its been every couple of days rather than everyday. I think once the challenge officially starts I will be posting more.
Here is my last 2 days of my food diary.

Day6
Breakfast: bowl of cheerio’s with cup of tea with lite milk and 1 tsp sugar.
Morning snack: cappuccino with lite milk and 1tsp sugar, 1 banana
Lunch: 3 slices of left over dominos pizza.
Dinner: Rosemary and Garlic infused roast lamb with roast potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, pumpkin and corn, Can of coke zero.
Dessert: Chocolate self saucing pudding with ice cream, Cup of tea with lite milk and 1tsp sugar

Day 7
Breakfast: Bel Vita breakfast biscuits (4 Biscuits), cup of tea with lite milk and 1tsp sugar
Lunch: Left over roast lamb with vegies, Cappuccino with lite milk and 1tsp sugar
Dinner: 2 Whiting (Fish) sausages in 2 bread rolls with olive oil spread, Can of coke zero
I'm going to continue doing my food diary since it gives me an incite of what I have been eating and what definately needs to be changed. It also keeps me accountable and not make up excuses if my weight doesnt change or I put on weight. I cannot say "Oh this week wasn't that bad" or "Its my medical condition" Yes I have medical conditions that are partly to blame but they can be controlled if I put the effort into it and eat the right foods and exercise. So basically i need to say "I am the one who ate all that and it is my fault and I need to fix it."

This weeks meal plan changes are, Dump the sugar out of the tea, cut down on the takeaway, no more chocolatey desserts with icecream (If I want dessert if will make fruit salad with some diet yoghurt instead). I also still need to up my water intake...I have improved but still have to up it to twice as much.

Monday 30 April 2012

Day 4 Food diary.

Ok it seems I forgot to post my day 4 food diary. Here it is.

Morning snack: 1 muffin break choc chip muffin with 1 cappuccino with 1tsp sugar
Lunch: MacDonald’s double cheeseburger
Dinner: Beer battered flat head fillet with fried chips and salad (Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, avocado)
Evening snack/dessert: home made apple pie with ice cream + 1 cup of tea with lite milk and 1 tsp of sugar.

Day 4

Good afternoon everyone.
The past few days have been busy for us so havn't been able to get on the computer to update.
Went for a walk yesterday and ended up getting rained on. It was sunny with a few clouds when I left. Within half an hour I was drenched since the rain was heavy. David ended up coming to pick me up since my shoes and socks were wet as well and I was starting to get blisters. I managed to get 5.6km in though so could have been worse.
Even though the challenge hasn't started yet I am learning things already. Especially with the food diary. I didn't realise how much bad stuff we were really eating...I guess unless you write it down you don't think twice about it....Now when I look at what we have eaten I freak out. Things will definately be changing around here.

Below is my Day 5 food diary...(Sunday)

Breakfast: 1 x 250ml chocolate up & go with 1 banana + cappuccino with lite milk and 1tsp sugar.
Lunch: Bowl of home made veggie soup with 1 bread roll with olive oil spread + can of coke zero.
Dinner: 5 pieces dominoes double bacon cheeseburger pizza on the deep pan base + can of coke zero
Cup of tea with lite milk and 1tsp sugar
Looking at that just makes me sick.
Although today really hasn't been much better since had left over pizza for lunch but have been drinking more water today than most other days.

7 days until pre-season starts..I cannot wait. Well i'm off to go clean the bathroom then housework is done for the day.

I'll Be There

Below is a poem I wrote not long ago called I'll Be There.

When the world just isn’t right
And you need a shoulder to cry on
Just look inside your heart
And I will be there.

Sometimes life can be so cruel
And you really feel like you can’t take any more
Just look inside your heart
And I will be there.

When the light it seems so dark
And your life has lost its spark
Just look inside your heart
And I will be there.

Just remember I will be there
No matter where you are.
No matter what it is,
No matter when you need me
I will be there.

When the world just isn’t right
And you need a shoulder to cry on
Just look inside your heart
And I will be there.

Day 3

Well I completely forgot to post my food diary and make a post yesterday. So I will post the last 2 days today in stead.
Day 2 food diary:
Breakfast: 1 x 250ml banana up & go. 1 cappuccino with lite milk and 1 tsp sugar
Lunch: 1 port loin chop with sweet n sour sauce, ½ cup mashed potato with olive oil spread and lite milk, carrot, cauliflower, 1 Brussels sprout, broccoli and pumpkin. Can of coke zero.
Afternoon snack: 1 banana
Dinner: left over vegies from lunch, ½ of an avocado, 1 wholemeal roll with olive oil spread and vegemite. A Cup of tea with lite milk and 1 tsp of sugar.
Evening snack: 1 fun size kit Kat and 1 small freddo frog.
Day 3 Food Diary:
Breakfast:1 x 250ml banana up & go. 1 cappuccino with lite milk and 1 tsp of sugar.
Lunch: 1 long bread roll with olive oil spread and vegemite. 600ml bottle of coke zero.
Afternoon snack: 1 banana + 1 cup of tea with lite milk and 1tsp sugar. 6 white chocolate buttons
Dinner: 1 bowl homemade veggie soup with smoked bacon hock and 2 slices of home made wholemeal bread.

Yesterday I walked 4.56km with Hubby (David) and Sophie in the pram. Was a nice walk, we walked to the supermarket instead of driving. I intend on going for another walk this afternoon and get back on the rower machine. All up so far with challenge #3 have done 11.5km so still have 18.5km to go to reach the 30km target and 2 days to do it in. I will try my best, but somehow I can't see me reaching my goal. I will try even harder next week to reach my goal.

I have been wanting to do a couple of short courses at TAFE so I got on the website last night and had a look at the dates and costs which are not too bad. One of the courses is a cake decorating course that you learn to make different icings and sugar flowers etc. This is something i want to get into as a career option. Open my own special occasions store that sells gifts and cakes etc.

Thursday 26 April 2012

Day 2

Day to of my blog is about food.
Challenge number 4 in the 12WBT warmup is to keep a diary of all food and drink consumed.
Well yesterday was a bad day. I really need to cut down on how much I eat.
Yesterday I had 1 x 250ml Banana Up&Go for breakfast with a cappuccino made with Lite milk and 1 tsp sugar. For lunch we had Oporto where I had a orporto burger meal which came to 760 Calories. Thats half a days calories in one meal.  For dinner had 2 x grilled chicken burgers on wholemeal rolls with lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, egg, tomato sauce and hollandaise sauce and a can of coke zero. Then I had a cup of tea with milk and 1tsp sugar before bed.
I can see already why I struggle to lose weight. Not only am I lazy but I eat to much bad things and not enough exercise. I missed exercise yesterday so need to catch up today. Once the baby wakes up I will definately be going for a long walk. Need to do 30km for the week and so far have only done about 8km and have 3 days left after today.

Today has been a bit better food wise but theres still some improvements that need to be made.
I will post some more exciting things later. :)

Wednesday 25 April 2012

Day 1

Day 1:
I should really tell you all a little about myself to start with. I was born on 14th January 1987 weighing 7lb 11oz @ 12:18pm with thick red hair which I still have to this day.
I grew up in a place called Bendigo in Victoria up until 2009 when I moved to Newcastle to live with my husband (He was my boyfriend at the time). In April 2010 we got married which was one of the best days of my life. Then last year in 2011 after 14 months of trying to conceive with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and use of a fertility medication called Clomid, we conceived our beautiful daughter who was born in November 2011. She is now 5 months old.

I am doing the 12WBT challenge to change my life for me since I have always put everyone else first and weight just went up and up over the years. Now I am determined more than ever to lose the weight and get fit n healthy. I want to watch my child grow up and have our grandchildren but unless I do something about my health I fear I will end up in an early grave.

I have some challenges I have set myself that I would love to do once I reach my weight loss goals. But I will post them at a later date. At the moment miss Sophie (Our daughter) has just woken up although i'm not sure if she actually had a nap or not but she certainly doesn't want to stay in her cot any longer.

I will post more about myself and family a little later on as well. Here I will be posting my food diary and also my day to day challenges and goals.
